Cologne, 5 November 2025. Around 5,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the VdS-FireSafety Cologne on December 3 and 4, 2025. More than 170 exhibitors will be presenting their latest fire protection solutions and many live applications at this major international trade fair. At the same time, a varied program of specialist information will be offered on the exhibition stage.
In addition, six VdS expert conferences can be booked separately, which will take place in the adjacent halls. This allows conference and trade fair visits to be perfectly combined.
Live demonstrations
The special area dedicated to sprinkler systems with live demonstrations and hands-on activities, which proved very popular last year, is once again part of the trade fair concept. In addition, the VdS laboratory will use a sprinkler testing device to demonstrate how sprinkler heads from old systems are checked for functionality. Visitors will also be able to experience and try out the VdS software for dimensioning gas extinguishing systems live.
Special area: “Structural fire protection”
New this year is the special area dedicated to structural fire protection, covering around 230 m². Here, exhibitors will be presenting various exhibits and live demonstrations that bring applications from the field of structural fire protection to life. In addition, the Structural Fire Protection Forum by asecos academy will offer a high-quality program with selected neutral specialist presentations that impart practical knowledge on the topic.
Professional program on the fair stage
A colorful program of events will take place on both days on the stage in the exhibition hall, which can be visited by all trade fair guests at any time. It consists of the Future Forum Fire Protection with presentations on important topics for the future, the Exhibitor Forum on innovative solutions, and the VdS-FireSafetyTalk – 90-minute panel discussions on the latest industry topics.
The first of the two panel discussions will be moderated by VdS Managing Director Peter Schramm and is entitled “Approved and ready to burn down – building regulations fulfilled, business destroyed.” The topic of the second panel discussion will be announced shortly at vds.de/fire-safety and via LinkedIn.
Guided trade fair tours
Anyone who would like to get an overview of innovative exhibits can register free of charge for one of the guided tours of the fair. These tours are once again being designed and conducted by students from Furtwangen University. Attractive prizes will be raffled off among the tour participants, including a visit to a one-day VdS expert conference and a subscription to the trade magazine s+s report.
On each of the two days of the trade fair, one of the tours will be specifically aimed at school students.
VdS expert conferences
As every second year, the traditional expert conference "Fire Extinguishing Systems" will take place over two days, with international topics and simultaneous German/English translation. The topics include: "Sprinklers in Mass Timber buildings", "Car parks for electric vehicles – New protection concept", "Oxygen Reduction Systems for Warehouse Storage Applications", "Digitalization as the key to efficiency, maintenance and future-proofing" and many more. Get-together and evening event in the Kristallsaal are included.

The conferences must be booked separately. Admission to the trade fair is included for all conference participants on both days. Several of the expert conferences that take place as part of the VdS-FireSafety Cologne can be booked at a reduced combined price.
