VdS will contribute its expertise to the European Euralarm network for fire and security technology.
Press Release 05/2026
Cologne, 9th March 2026. VdS Schadenverhütung is a new associate member of Euralarm. The European industry association represents the interests of the fire and security industry in relation to the market, politics, and standardization, and brings together companies, national associations, and other stakeholders from across Europe. Founded in 1970, Euralarm represents more than 5,000 companies in the European fire and security industry. VdS will be involved in all four sections of Euralarm in the future: Extinguishing, Fire, Security, and Services.
With this membership, VdS is further expanding its international network. For the company, the cooperation opens up additional opportunities to respond to developments in European markets at an early stage, to follow technical and regulatory issues more closely at the European level, and to contribute its own expertise to the discussion on standards, quality, and future topics in the security industry.
"Membership in Euralarm is a logical step for us to bring our expertise even more strongly into the European dialogue and at the same time to take up important impulses for the further development of fire protection, security, and security-related services," explains Peter Schramm, Managing Director of VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH. "When it comes to standardization, quality assurance, and technological developments in particular, all parties involved benefit from close professional exchange across national borders. We are therefore very much looking forward to working together in the Euralarm network."
Future participation in all four sections underscores VdS's broad technical approach. While the Extinguishing section deals with active extinguishing technologies and their regulatory environment, among other things, the Services section focuses in particular on the further development of service standards such as EN 16763 and EN 50710. Euralarm sees itself as the voice of the European fire and security industry and works at the interface of technology, market requirements, politics, and standardization.
For VdS, the new membership offers a suitable platform for feeding proven German and international security approaches into the European technical discourse and, at the same time, integrating new developments into its own work at an early stage. This applies to classic topics of technical fire protection and security as well as to digital services, cyber security, and new requirements for resilience and interoperability. The services section of Euralarm explicitly highlights the growing importance of digitalization, remote services, and cyber security.
