On 8 and 9 December 2021, seven specialist conferences of the VdS Training Centre were streamed live - with 64 lectures, hundreds of participants and the best feedback.
For 7 and 8 December 2022, the conferences are again planned as part of the VdS-FireSafety Cologne with their extensive programme. In addition, the second VdS-FireSafetyTalk online on the topic of energy transition and lithium batteries will take place at the beginning of 2022.
Press Release 43/2021
Cologne/Germany, December 10th, 2021. Speakers, moderators and organisers met in Cologne on 8 and 9 December 2021 to realise the seven VdS specialist conferences on fire protection, which traditionally take place at the beginning of December. For the second time, the conferences were offered exclusively online as livestreams for pandemic reasons.
A total of 64 lectures on current fire protection topics were streamed and followed on screen by hundreds of participants: On 8 December, more than 500 people interested in fire protection took part in a total of four specialist conference livestreams. On 9 December, there were more than 750 participants in five livestreams. Feedback on the content, transmission technology and organisation of the conferences was positive throughout.
International Fire Extinguishing Systems Conference
The international conference on "Fire Extinguishing Systems" had a special organisational feature: The speakers came from eight different countries, the participants even from 17 different countries. Two simultaneous interpreters were on hand in Cologne to translate all the presentations from German into English and from English into German - regardless of whether the speaker was present in the room or connected to it.
On 7 and 8 December 2022 again as part of the VdS-FireSafety Cologne
Traditionally, the major VdS conferences at the end of the year are part of the VdS-FireSafety Cologne and are combined at the Koelnmesse with a large fire protection trade fair and a varied supporting programme with lectures and live demonstrations. This overall offer, which has been popular for many years, is again firmly scheduled for 7/8 December 2022.
VdS-FireSafetyTalk
As early as spring 2022, fire protection professionals can look forward to another exciting information format in the form of the VdS-FireSafetyTalk live stream: Top-class fire protection experts will discuss the topic of "Energy transition and electromobility: challenges for fire protection" for 90 minutes. The topics will include where and how to charge electric vehicles and lithium batteries, what the charging infrastructure must look like, how to deal with lithium-ion storage systems (from model batteries to storage power plants), whether, how and by what means lithium batteries - in storage or installed in electric vehicles - must be extinguished in the event of a fire, and how to deal with defective batteries.
The exact date will be announced soon, including in the newsletter of the VdS Training Centre (registration at www.vds.de/bz-newsletter).
