Components for water extinguishing systems
AM28
Low pressure water mist sprinkler
The sprinkler AM28 may only be used to protect the following applications:
Sprinkler parameters:
- Office areas max. permissible ceiling height: 4.50m
- Max. permissible ceiling height: 3.50 m
Office areas:
Single and open-plan offices,
Counter areas,
Restaurants and kitchens
Rooms for data processing,
Note: When securing rooms for data processing with sprinkler systems as ceiling protection, firefighting inside server cabinets or similar cannot be assumed.
Public areas in buildings with low fire load,
Escape routes or other corridors,
training rooms
churches,
museums,
and other comparable risks
Technical areas (e.g. operating rooms) with a low fire load can be protected with sprinkler systems for office areas. The effective area must then be increased to 144 m².
Areas with a size restriction of = 50 m² per room:
storage rooms,
libraries, file rooms, archives
technical areas
or comparable risks.
These areas must be structurally separated in a fire-retardant manner.
The storage of flammable liquids, gases or other highly flammable substances in the areas listed above is not permitted.
The storage of plastics is only permitted to a limited extent and requires coordination with the VdS Technical Testing Body.
Kitchen areas (e.g. in restaurants) may only be protected with one for office areas if it is proven that no water can reach areas where hot grease is to be expected and no oil or grease is sprayed through the sprinklers.
Common areas:
Hotel rooms
Rooms in hospitals, nursing homes, retirement homes
Apartments,
Lounge areas
and other comparable risks.
Enclosure 3 of the approval and the manufacturer's installation manual must be observed.
