The fine spray fire extinguishing system 'Minifog PressProtect' may be used only for the protection of presses and machines where
- combustible liquids with a flash point = +55°C
- splints, wood fibres or substances less hazardous as to their combustibility and fire
behaviour
do appear.
Fields of application of the system are, among others: - presses to produce wood panels, press cellars and thermo oil ducts
- gas and steam turbines
- coating units
- generators
- emergency units
- hydraulic units
It has to be avoided an uncontrolled fire spread (e.g. spray fire) by following measures: - immediate interruption of the supply of means of production, lubricants, heat transfer oil
etc. - deactivation of exhaust equipment, fans, ventilators and heaters.
The standard interface (extinguishment) can be omitted if the fire detection and fire alarm system has been equipped with control and indicating equipment of Minimax GmbH & Co. KG, Type FMZ 5000 (VdS Approval G 204124) and the fire detection and fire alarm system and the fire extinguishing system are installed by Minimax GmbH & Co. KG.
As strainer according to G4070049 the design with a mesh size of 2.5 mm or 1,0 mm are only allowable.
The system manual of the manufacturer (see enclosure 2) has to be observed.
