Mit der vorliegenden neuen Broschüre sollten die Bauherrschaft und Planenden bei der angemessenen Entscheidung über die Verwendung brennbarer Baustoffe unterstützt werden.

Dabei werden als wichtige Entscheidungsgrundlage

• die gesetzlichen Vorgaben zum Brandschutz und nachhaltigen Bauen,
• Beispiele typischer Anwendungsfälle brennbarer Baustoffe sowie
• Schadenerfahrungen, u.a. Schadenbeispiele, und die darauf basierende Sicht der Versicherer

skizziert. Auf Grund der vielfältigen Art und Form brennbarer Baustoffe als Produkt wird zudem auf die Literatur verwiesen. Als konkrete Entscheidungshilfe sind jeweils ein Ablaufschema und eine Checkliste bereitgestellt, u.a. auch mit Berücksichtigung der Kostenaspekte. Damit sollen die praktischen  Empfehlungen der Versicherer zur Schadenverhütung auch mit Blick auf den Brandschutz bei der Verwendung brennbarer Baustoffe angereichert werden.

New GDV brochure "Attention: Combustible Building Materials!" – DRAFT

The purpose of this new brochure is to support building owners and planners in making appropriated decisions about the use of combustible building materials.

As an important basis for decision-making

• the legal requirements for fire protection and sustainable construction,
• examples of typical applications of combustible building materials and
• experience, including examples of losses, and based on this, the view of insurers

are outlined. Due to the diverse kind and form of combustible building materials as product, reference is also made to the literature. As a concrete decision-making aid, a flow chart and a checklist are provided in each case, including consideration of the cost aspects. This also is intended to enrich the practical recommendations of insurers for loss prevention with a focused view to fire protection in the use of combustible building materials.
