Zusammenfassung
Automatisierte Hochregal‑ und Kompaktlagersysteme stellen aufgrund großer Höhen, hoher Wertkonzentrationen, eingeschränkter Zugänglichkeit und komplexer Technik besondere brandschutztechnische Anforderungen.
Ein bauaufsichtlich ausreichendes Brandschutzkonzept gewährleistet dabei nicht automatisch einen wirksamen Sach‑ und Betriebsunterbrechungsschutz.
Erforderlich ist vielmehr ein betriebsspezifisches, schutzzielorientiertes Gesamtkonzept mit vorbereiteter Einsatzplanung auf Basis von Feuerwehrplan, objektbezogener Einsatzplanung und klaren organisatorischen Festlegungen. Zentrale Voraussetzung ist die frühzeitige Brandkontrolle durch stationäre Anlagen; vollständige manuelle Löschungen sind systembedingt häufig nicht realistisch.
Betreiber und Feuerwehr müssen daher abgestimmte Annahmen, Zuständigkeiten und Abläufe festlegen und regelmäßig überprüfen.
Die Publikation richtet sich an alle Akteure, die Planung, Betrieb, Einsatzbewältigung und Risikobewertung automatisierter Lagersysteme verantworten oder beeinflussen.

Prepared Incident Planning for Automated Storage Systems with Sprinkler Installations – System Limits, Fire Control and Operational Responsibility (VdS 6067 – Draft 2026-07)
Automated high‑bay and compact storage systems impose particular fire safety challenges due to their considerable heights, high value concentrations, restricted accessibility and complex technical infrastructure.
A fire safety concept that is sufficient from a building control perspective does not automatically ensure effective property protection or protection against business interruption losses.
Instead, a site‑specific, protection‑objective‑oriented overall concept is required, incorporating prepared incident planning based on the fire brigade plan, object‑specific fire service pre‑planning and clearly defined organisational arrangements. A key prerequisite is early fire control by fixed fire protection systems; complete manual extinguishment is often not realistically achievable due to system‑related constraints.
Operators and fire services must therefore agree on assumptions, responsibilities and procedures and review them on a regular basis.
This publication is addressed to all stakeholders who are responsible for, or who influence, the planning, operation, incident management and risk assessment of automated storage systems.
