Zäune definieren für Außenstehende die juristische Grenze eines Grundstücks. Sie sollten hinreichend mechanischen Widerstand bieten. Sie können den Schutz gegen Einbruch und Vandalismus unterstützen und ergänzen die angemessene Sicherung der Gebäudeaußenhaut.

Anhand dieser Richtlinien lassen sich Zäune als Muster-Bauteil durch Prüfungen im VdS-Labor mit nachfolgender VdS-Anerkennung oder als ausgeführte Installation durch eine Begutachtung vor Ort bewerten und einstufen.

Die Einstufungen sind geeignet, Sicherungsmaßnahmen zum ED-Schutz für Hersteller und Anwender greifbar und umsetzbar zu machen.

VdS guidelines for fences and fence constructions

Fences define the legal boundary of a property for outsiders. They should offer sufficient mechanical resistance. They can support protection against burglary and vandalism and complement the appropriate protection of the building's outer shell.

Based on these guidelines, fences can be assessed and categorised as a sample component through tests in the VdS laboratory with subsequent VdS approval or as a completed installation through an on-site assessment

The classifications are suitable for making security measures for ED protection tangible and realisable for manufacturers and users.
